MacDoc, there is talk about both Danny Williams for the Conservatives and Brian Tobin (in time) for the Liberals once Paul Martin relinquishes power. We shall see. Actually, Williams, with his business-savvy, and our ties to oil, could be acceptable to many in central and western Canada. Tobin, I feel, is a longshot, but he is still young enough to wait for a few years to let the dust settle. We shall see.

Williams would be a good choice - I suspect he got nationwide respect for his handling of the oil revenues
Quite frankly I'm tired of Martin being overly slow in getting things done and a bit of a firebrand would be welcome and my perception is Williams might fit the bill and allow a conservative option. Manley I guess is next in line for PM - Charest is likely in too deep in Quebec BUT that might be an interesting move on the Liberals part. Tangled webs.

I'm betting that whenever the next federal Liberal leadership contest is, Belinda will run for it. She would probably have a better shot at it than she did with the Cons.

With the knives firmly placed in Harper's back by the Conservative media, leadership sharks are picking up the scent of blood.
According to Bourque.org former Ontario cabinet minister and failed provincial Tory leadership candidate Jim Flaherty is circling Harper, while Bernard Lord, Peter Mackay, and Stockwell Day may be checking their own chances. Thus continues the Conservative tradition of self-destruction.

MacDoc, Danny Williams made $160 million when he sold his company, Cable Atlantic, to Rogers Cable. Thus, he won't be in the race to make money. His one fault is that he digs in his heels against unions, and makes the fight personal.
