OK... Maybe Macnutt and Sinc are right that Martin and the boys need a Conservative minority enema.

From the CBC report on the Martin's new foriegn policy initiative.

Reshape relations between Canada and the United States and Mexico with an emphasis on security and economic ties.
Create a "Canada Command" to concentrate on the Canadian military's new top priority: defending its homeland and the North American continent from attacks like those that occurred against the United States on Sept. 11, 2001.

Any politician or political statement that uses "homeland" need to have their heads flushed. It smacks of the "Fatherland" or "Motherland"... I HATE THAT KIND OF POLITICAL REHTORIC! Now hearing it from from our own Government is too much...

i think the current leadership lacks intelligence.
Canada IS the USA biggest ally already, there is no need to smooch US ass. Common' People, we are " in", and we can have the luxury to think for ourselves and the future, so what's up with playing little brother ? We are the little brother, so who is going to attack us anyway? Ze Germans? Let's focus on important things, like Hockey. oops

Martin's new foreign policy initiative was written in Washington. It's part of the Liberal's "Deep Integration" initiative and was the reason for the recent meeting of Martin, Bush and Vincente Fox of Mexico, down in Texas. The two errand boys got their instructions from head office.

The push for a "United States of North America" is something that Liberals have been covertly working on for some time. They don't want to appear too upfront about it because it would tarnish their undeserved image as defenders of Canadian sovereignty.

The Conservatives, on the other hand, would have established the United States of North America 10 years ago, if they had been in power during the 90s. They believe in all the measures that the Liberals and Canada's CEO lobby groups are proposing, they just want it now.

More info on Deep Integration, in this thread.

Interesting....

Hey SINC. Now you are being "mentioned in dispatches by name" as well as myself. Considering how few people here at ehmac actually get mentioned by name in thread titles, then this has GOT to be some sort of honour...no? ;) :D

I wonder...is it a Scottish thing?
