I recently gave a copy of the new Battlestar Galactica min series to a friend. The next day he messages me to check out a certain scene in part one. Here is a screen cap of what I saw:
For those of you unsure of what you're looking at, it is a Firefly class ship, like Serenity from the show Firefly, landing on Caprica in Battlestar Galactica.
Which is awesome. Just thought I'd share, because I am a dork that way.

The SciFi channel made a mini series earlier this year, 4 hours long, hoping it would get enough ratings to warrant a regular series. It did, the new show has already started broadcasting on Sky UK and will begin in North America this coming January.
Of course, with a high speed internet connection you can obtain them fairly easily if you're not keen on waiting.
The new series, so far, has been quite good.
The screen cap is from part one of the mini series from earlier this year.

One other thing about BSG that's kind of fun, there are a number of scenes that take place on "Cylon Occupied Caprica", which is really just downtown Vancouver.

OT: I'm amazed by the quality of CG effects -- not so much in the design or photorealism, although it is damn close to cinema-quality (kudos to the VFX team for putting so much effort into a 1-hour weekly show), but the chaotic details in the environment that gives it a realism; ei: shaking camera angles, occasional blurring from the "camera-person's" attempt to keep the frame in focus.
