I am thinking of participating in this years NaNoWriMo. Has anyone else heard of it, or thinking of participating in it?
The idea is to write a 50,000 word novel between Nov. 1st and Nov. 30th. That's, oh, 1700 words per day or so. It's a daunting task, but it could be rewarding.
Thoughts?

I've been thinking about participating too, though I'm not sure yet. I'd kind of like some clearer ideas about my characters first. Perhaps next year..... which may end up being something I say every year....
A friend of mine tried last year. He was doing well, but apparently his laptop fried halfway through, so he did not finish. He's planning to try again this year.
I think it's a great idea to force you to actually sit down and write instead of obsessing and planning and procrastinating. Even if you don't finish, you get a lot further along.

A couple or three of those, and I'd be a contender! If the readers didn't actually fall asleep, that is.
