thought i would vent about something that has been annoying me lately -
the bell commercial, where they say that they have 100% digital channels, but rogers doesnt -
funny thing is - neither companies can offer 100% digital until all the channels being offered go digital!
bell says they are 100% digital, but thats because the signal thats imported to your house is digital - the stations arent different on bell compared to rogers -??!?
thats like saying - if you listen to a digital radio station that plays 8 track music, that the 8 tracks have mysteriously become digital quality -
am i wrong here - or do i have too much time on my hands?

no i agree.. the commercail is rather silly.. i think both stink and i just use the ol' bunnie ears for T.V.. the only thing i really watch is football.. and i'm not paying for TSN so i was watch a few games a year most of all the other good channels you have to pay more for.. i wouldn't watch 3/4 of the stations they have anyway.
Rogers / Videotron use an analog signal that is sent over the Cable lines..
Actually, I believe Rogers uses both an analog and digital signal over their network. You can get channels below 68 (I think that's the upper limit) without a set-top box, but you need a digital set-top box for all channels above 68.
On Rogers, real digital TV goes from channels 277 to 295. These are the HD channels. When you get good HD source material, the picture is just outstanding....
