"No Easy Day" navy seal book

I think this book hit the stores today. I'm listening to the audio book. I'm not yet at the part where they go after Bin Laden. I'm pretty sure I don't want to hear any more.

Leading up to today, I thought the book might have an apologetic tone. I was wrong.

Anyone else reading this book? Thoughts?

I believe it was released at this time, primarily as a tool to discredit President Obama's version of the raid that killed Bin Laden. It's a political tract disguised as a memoir.

I tend to agree.

It could also have been named... "Cashing In".

There's more than a few pissed off Navy Seals at the release of this book. (not to mention the U.S. government)

After reading the Globe & Mail article, any interest I may have had to read this book just vanished.

Audible.com has a new return policy. I returned it and got my credit back. Too bad. The narration was great, the writing was interesting, but the whole thing gave me a sick feeling.

I don't read books, but if I did, this probably would have been the last one I would read. Who wants to read how Bin Laden was killed? Especially by a Navy Seal. Probably a lot of brovado and hoorah, we're gonna kill good, stuff him full of bullets... I mean I love a good action movie like the Expendables 2, but that's not real.

Bin Laden's dead. Who cares how he died. Someone's taken over his role, probably by now.
