Travelling to US, weekend cell options?

I'm heading south for a weekend and need to have a local cell while I'm there. I have an unlocked gsm handset, I'm just looking for recommendations for a carrier and pre paid plan.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Z.

Last time I did that, I had a good experience with T-Mobile. If I recall correctly (which I may not), a SIM plus about $10 of prepaid airtime cost me something like $10.

That's,

Were you able to pick up the sim in Canada before you left, or did you have to find a store on arrival?

I did it on arrival--took me all of 10 minutes or so to set up. I knew where I would be staying so I looked up the closest store online before I left.

It seems that you can purchase the SIM ahead of time online, but I have no idea if they ship to Canada, nor how long that takes.
