With entry-level G5 towers closing in on $150, I would try $100. Its saving grace is that anyone wanting to preserve OS9 capability would be doing so with a powerful model.

I'd say between $75 and $100, if you're lucky.

Thank you for the feedback Macfury and John Clay.

I checked prices on Kijiji and Craigslist and...boy, the prices run the gamut:
G5 from $150 to $550. G4 from $95 to $275, though there are very few high end Dual Processor MDDs available. As expected, upgrades, specs, and condition seem to influence prices the most.

I'm going to try $225.

This is a misleading statement. The Firewire 800 G4s cannot boot into OS9 natively. They can run OS9 applications via Classic, as can G5s. You should remove the word "Boots" from the statement.

The Firewire 400 G4s could boot into OS9, but you still need to have the special OS9 install disks specific to the MDD models. The regular OS9 installers will not recognize the MDD G4s.
