Hi All,

Been a lurker for some time however now I actually have a question! I'm looking to upgrade my 2008 iMac (MB325LL/A) to 4GB from the current 2GB memory from factory.

I'm wondering whether this would be the correct ram I would be looking for: PC2-6400 DDR2-800 200pin SODIMM?

Also any recommendations on where I should purchase it from in Canada? I live in Toronto however I have no issue with purchasing online! :D

Thank you!

You can go up to 6-gigs maximum in that model. One of ehMac's Assured Advertisers is the very excellent CanadaRam.com (http://www.canadaram.com/apple_imac_intel.htm) <---That link will take you to the iMac Intel page, where you can find your model about halfway down the page.

I've purchased from CanadaRam on several occasions, and highly recommend their service.

Sounds about right but check for your exact iMac model:
Apple iMac Specs (All iMac Technical Specs) @ EveryMac.com (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/index-imac.html)

And maybe this model?
iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.8 24-Inch (Early 2008) Specs (Early 2008, MB325LL/A, iMac8,1, A1225, 2211) @ EveryMac.com (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/specs/imac-core-2-duo-2.8-24-inch-aluminum-early-2008-penryn-specs.html)

For RAM, CanadaRAM has a very good reputation here and elsewhere:
Canada RAM sells memory in Canada - Apple Macintosh iMac intel Core2Duo, CoreDuo 17", 20" and 24" (http://www.canadaram.com/apple_imac_intel.htm)

BTW: That iMac can probably use up to 6GB of RAM with one 4GB and one 2GB chip installed if you want. Apple says 4GB max witch is not true.
