Unfortunately Israel views antagonism as a tool for short term survival. I suspect that if the US followed its own laws and stopped funding Israel, as long as the latter possesses nuclear weapons and refuses to sign the non-proliferation treaty, we would see some sincere Israeli attempts to achieve peace.

Well, not really. Calling it "the great evil" is a bit much. I just don't care for it and I'm happy to be free of it.

Never joined (yay me!).

but on the topic of the OP, while I think "social media" is a marketing term for software that helps the technologically illiterate do what we've been doing on the internet for decades in exchange for their privacy (a bad deal), I do think that communication between the people of these countries is necessary for peace. Both populations should be extremely skeptical of their respective political leaderships, because the power these leaders wield is founded on the fear they generate. Communication will ameliorate that fear, and as the fear subsides, peace can flourish.
