Is there any way to select all the songs in iTunes, and set the equalizer for the same preset for all?

Once you set the equalizer to your preferences on a single song, does it not automatically play all tunes with the same settings thereby eliminating the need to select all songs? Seems to me that is the way it works from my experience.

I believe this is the way iTunes works.

Not on my iTunes. Ver. 10

Just checked... it is on my iTunes Ver. 10. Are you opening the equalizer window and making your adjustments there?

Even after closing and reopening iTunes the equalizer settings remain the same for me for all songs being played. It is the way it has always been for me.

If you are going into Info on an individual song and setting the equalization that way it will only apply to that one song... and is the wrong way to make a universal change...

My version of iTunes 10.6 is a single adjustment for all songs with no need to select any songs to set it, just as I thought.

I was selecting 1 song at a time. Thank you..

Edit: Select All -> right click -> Get Info -> Options -> Equalizer Preset

All that to accomplish what one setting in equalizer would do? Sorry, but I just don't get why anyone would have to make it so hard to do what iTunes makes so easy.

I answered his question exactly, whether you find it so hard to do  is completely irrelevant and I find your response to be rather rude.

I think what SINC is saying is that the OP may not know about the general EQ that can affect all iTunes output rather than using the EQ settings within each track.

However, it is possible that the OP does want to change the setting on each track. I am not sure why, unless EQ settings work when you transfer to iPod/iPhone?

If you found the response rude, I apologize, it was not meant to be so. When one wants to get to the ice cream store across the street and instead chooses to run a marathon to get there bewilders me. Sorry if that is rude to you.

Exactly. Why select every song to set an equalizer that is pre-programed via iTunes to allow the setting to be done just once for the same effect on each of those songs?

This works too but it is a 5 step procedure as opposed to one step and is really meant for individual settings for songs so that they are specific to that song or album whereas the equalizer window is universal by design.

Back about iTunes 8, the equalizer button disappeared from the iTunes window. For iTunes 8, 9, and presumably 10 it is activated via the menu bar item: iTunes>Window>Equalizer.

Was not at all obvious to me, as other wise I have no reason at all to open the iTunes>Window menu.

I don't equalize my music as I play it all flat and let my amp and speakers take care of the rest... it took me about 5 seconds to find the equalizer yesterday.
