Hi,
can anyone tell me why the i7 27 inch imacs aren't on the mac store anymore?

when will an update to imac come out, any clues?

It is still there. Select any model above the base one and you will see that the i7 processor is on the Configure Your iMac list.

New "Ivy Bridge" processors are coming in about a month from intel. I would bet that the iMac will be updated shortly after that. If you're contemplating a purchase now, and can wait at least 4 weeks (probably a bit more) I would wait. The iMac has been updated in the Spring for a few years in a row now.

i think something is in the works as both futureshop and best buy dropped the price of imacs by $50 this week.
I want to sell a mac mini but need to get my posts up to 30 to post on this website... WTF?

Anyway, i'll do my best.

i think the newer chips will be out soon too.

Looks like they're coming April 29th.

Ivy Bridge Quad-Core Desktop and Mobile Processors Reportedly Launching on April 29 - Mac Rumors (http://www.macrumors.com/2012/03/28/ivy-bridge-quad-core-desktop-and-mobile-processors-reportedly-launching-on-april-29/)

At least for Desktops and potentially 15"/17" MBPs (if they keep the current corm factor...)
