Yeah the heavy rain busted one loose here in Cairns Aus that landed ( along with tons and tons of other debris ) on the main highway north bound.

Good chunk of a cliff came down and one of the rocks was the size of a cube van. Highway crews were drilling it when we rode by on the single lane they finally opened.

Road is still closed 3 days later for most of the day while they try and deal with it.

Smaller slides and boulders are common here but size large boulders landing on the highway not so often.

Could not stop and get pics.

hard to tell from this

but there is the better part of a 30 meter cliff sitting on the main highway. The north bound (left on the photo ) portion is open for a few hours each day while they deal with it and there is another slide just a few hundred meters on that has been under stabilization for months. Part of life here in the wet tropics....and a costly one.

One of those random events you hope never happens while you are in the area.
Always having an eye out on the very steep slopes that overhang the range highways. Even a small rock can ruin your day on a motorcycle.
