Is anyone using OS 10.6 with a Belkin F5D7230-4 Router?
I can't connect using a macBook Pro and when I research this on the net it seems to be common problem - trouble is that the solution involves changing settings on the router, either selecting channel 6 permanently or tuning off security, connecting and then turning on security again.

I'm looking for a solution that doesn't involve touching the router at all.

What happens now is that I'm asked for a WPA password, I enter the password but instead of connecting I get a time-out message after a few seconds.

The "fix" turned out to be rebooting the router. Then the MBP could connect.
Why - I have no clue.
A Windows computer had been connected fine but the Mac couldn't join the network until the router was rebooted.

That's because Macs are fussier with what they want or will connect to and they only like and accept good company and no riffraff, and the device sometimes needs to be restarted and get accepted and connected properly.

Just better manners and taste of the connected connection device. ;)

Yes as a mac owner I'm really surprised and offended by people using non Apple equipment!
