: Question About iPad Camera Connection Kit

So I got my iPad camera connection kit today.. and right away I plugged in my D70 to give it a whirl.. photos showed up no problem.. question.. if I switch the camera to PTP usb mode, should I be able to connect the D70 to my ipad, and the photos show up instantly when I take them (actual tethered shooting... where you take a photo, and boom, the photo shows up on the screen?).. or is it just for photos that have been taken.. i.e. I have to plug it in let the photos load, import, then take more photos?

I was under the impression that in ptp mode, you should be able to do tethered shooting, but photos don't seem to show up for me after I take them.. I have to unplug the camera, then plug it back in. Is there something up with my kit, or does the connection kit not actually allow for proper tethered shooting?

any help is appreciated

Connection kit does not allow for tethered shooting, AFAIK.

Yea.. I've decided to get an sd-cf adapter and use an eye-fi card.. Seems to be the only direct tethered shooting option to date.. $40 for the eye-fi, $12 for the adapter (D70 is cf cards, but eye-fi doesn't make em).. Set up eye-fi in direct mode, which creates its own network.. Good to go

And wow.. I found a 4gb eye-fi card at black on sale (open box item) for $14.99!!!!
