Hi,
I'm a second language teacher and I often have my students record their conversations so that they can watch them and analyze them. I also like to have a copy to show them their progress across the semester. My problem arises when trying to extract their videos from their iphones/ipod touches. I'm on a MacBook Pro and I have no problem with any other phone/recording device (flip cam, Blackberry, other random mobile phones). Am I missing something here? If I let them use my iphone it isn't a problem because it is already set up to sync with my computer, however I don't want my students' phones synced with my computer, I just want the data! Any help would be greatly appreciated...

plug their phone in, and use image capture. You should be able to extract all photos and videos fine.

Or open up iPhoto or iMovie!

Use the Nikon software ViewNX 2 (http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61)

It treats iPhones as if they were Nikon cameras, It'll make a folder on your drive,
I use it all the time with my iPhone 4.

From the Nikon link:

ViewNX 2 is an all-in-one application for image transfer*, browsing, sorting, and quick editing for both still images and movie files. It is a fun and easy-to-use application offering enhanced operation and is useful for all Nikon digital camera owners.
