Anyone want an iPad that's right in between the size of a current iPad and iPhone. (Say, a 7-8 inch screen) Let's call it an "iPad Mini".

Some reports (http://www.macrumors.com/2012/03/13/anonymous-samsung-executive-claims-apple-planning-to-launch-smaller-ipad-by-end-of-2012/) say it's coming.

Conceptually, no. That said, once I see it, it may change my mind!

I looked at the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and thought it was too small. I like the size of the current iPad so I would say no to this...

I say no having played with the Playbook...but this is Apple so once I get it in my hands I'll want one :)

I'd have to go with a no on that one. I think the current size is perfect for reading magazines and comics, a smaller size would just make them more difficult to read.

I'm going with a big no too.

I wouldn't mind having my iPhone slightly bigger. No where near the Galaxy note big, but just a bit bigger than it's current form, and still small enough to easily fit in my pocked. Anything bigger, can't fit in my pocket, so it's not really that portable, so it might as well be a full tablet size.

Then, if I want to tablet around, the iPad size is great.

I really thing a size inbetween is dumb, and don't thing for a second Apple is going to make one in this form factor.

I would say yes. A mini iPad that can run full fledged iPad apps that fits in my coat pocket aka I can easily carry it everywhere without having to pack it in a bag. 7" is a great size, although I agree with greensuperman that reading the Globe and Mail on a small screen will pose its challenges.

This is one main reason why I have hesitated for the longest time to buy an iPad, I can't justify paying $500 for something I can't carry with me everywhere that deserves to be carried everywhere. I can definitely justify spending $500 on a 7" form factor iPad.

No, not for me. I already own a "mini iPad". It's called my iPhone.

I say yes to something smaller than the current 10 inch size of the iPad.

I own an iPad2 and a Playbook. The 7 inch form factor is much easier to haul around than the 10 inch form factor. I can put the Playbook in the pocket of my rain jacket with no problems. The 7 inch screen is easier to read and manipulate than the screen on my Touch or iPhone

I don't see this issue as being much different than the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air situation. There was demand for a smaller MBPro and Apple delivered the 13 inch screen. Was there a huge demand for an 11 inch screen on the Air? I don't remember but Apple gave us the 11 inch model and people seem to be buying it.

Why can't Apple make an "Earth Final Conflict" style iPhone,
That's the iPhone I really want, With a roll up touchscreen.

I don't want one, but I'd buy one for my wife and kids to use so they stop stealing mine

If it was less powerful and smaller but half the price, I could see a market for it. Since I can read lots of things on an iPhone screen, I'm pretty sure I could read them on a 7" screen. There's a market. But I'm also waiting for them to come out with a rainbow of colour iPads like they did with iPod Nanos a few years ago. And AirPlay will be the new feature that drives adoption at any rate. I understand many TV's. receivers and what not are being built with AirPlay receiver chips built in, but only Apple products will have the transmitter. AirPlay for your car—that could be quite handy. And a 7" dash-mountable iPad would work better in a vehicle than either an iPhone or an iPad.

No, I would like the iPad as iPad, iPhone as iPhone.
