Carter just seemed to enjoy baseball, he made you want to feel as happy as he looked.

Sad indeed to hear, his turn in this ol' world, was so brief.

RIP Mr. Carter.

Wow, what a shocker...one of my all time faves, even tho he played for Montreal. Superb player and huge fan of the game himself. Another untimely victim of cancer...we need to beat that sh*t.

I heard that he was sick, but had not heard that he had died until I suddenly heard it on the CBC news. Loved his play in Montreal -- a real class act. Loved him even more when he went to the New York Mets and helped them win it all in 1986. He even played a bit for the team I have rooted for since I was a young boy -- the SF Giants.

Glad that his last hit was a double as an Expo, and done at home to over 40,000 cheering fans. He earned these accolades. He was also a class act going into the Hall of Fame with his plaque showing an Expo cap logo.

He shall be missed, as both a baseball player and a person. RIP.

Yes, that was a class act on the part of the team.:clap:
