Cereal lovers may want to reconsider what they eat or feed their children. Apparently any cereal marked fortified iron or 100% iron contains these grindings.
We do need iron in our diet (iron atoms are necessary to make heme, which carries oxygen in your blood, as well as for several other essential processes). However, metallic iron is not 'bioavailable' and can't be utilized directly. It has to be chelated by an organic acid. So getting your iron from spinach is much better than getting it by eating iron filings.
