Oh goody, it just changed with my last reply if one doesn't mind a variation on a redundant ad!!!

What's weird is the product name or manufacturer is not mentioned in text in the thread at all.

But it's pretty and has "Pure Google" showing.

Oh goody, I just got the Lightspeed for iPad ad back just for some variation, says something about iGeneration Point of Sale and a 'watch the Ad' option. Whoooppee ding, but no thanks!!!

Not a tech site, Mr. Mayor. A Canadian Mac Users' site. "Canada's Mac Community." ;)

I appreciate emac.ca as an Apple/Mac "tech site", and the ads used to be usually and mostly related, but that seems to have changed of late and now I'm consistently getting a whole batch on completely non-related ads and a LOT of Windows type specific ads which I see as totally useless and a bit of a joke IMHO.

Yes, Macs, iPhones and iPads are tech gadgets, and you'll find a lot of people here who like technology. You'll therefore get advertisers who target certain general categories of sites, not just by keywords in a thread. It makes more sense for Android ads to try and woo users who are currently not using their products rather than say, preaching to the choir on an Android forum.

Apple spent $17.9 Million dollars on Google Adwords in 2011, and I guarantee you they weren't just targeting sites that catered to the Mac crowd.

The fact that anyone is getting bent out of shape over how companies are targeting their Google ads is a joke IMNSHO. ;) I don't control that. I can block advertisers, but even I'm not a big enough Mac fan boi to block advertisers just because they're "the enemy" :lmao:

It's OK mayor—we're just yanking your chain. 37 million iPhones sold this last quarter, Apple phones selling on par with Androids right now; I don't think Apple fans have too much to worry about. :D

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

It was simply funny that the mascot was giving the Android phone a big thumbs up... Geez, get over it!

To be fair it took me a little while to clue in as well, however I did give up mobile devices when I retired and have not bothered to follow them closely.
