Not any time soon, and especially not while internet providers are still offering pathetically slow upload speeds and low usage quotas. SSDs will eventually take over, but not until the $/GB comes down substantially.
And I think many people still prefer to keep a copy of their content locally. So I think hard drives or at least hybrid sad/hard drives will reign for some time.
I think for most applications ssd's are well on the way to taking over, not quite there yet, but another year-18 months and they will be... Cost/gb currently limits practical size to slightly smaller than most people probably want... But it's getting there.
I agree. Although SS is the way to go for portable, once the price comes down a bit.
