I've always really liked motorcycles, and anytime I've seen it on TV would watch MotoCross (dirt bike racing on outside tracks) and SuperCross (inside stadiums)
My brother-in-law took me to see at SuperCross race at the Rogers Centre in Toronto last year and I got hooked.
The SuperCross 2012 season started this past weekend, and it was a really great race. Would love to have some fellow ehMacians who are into it to chat about it. Maybe a few more will start to get into it. I'm a newbie, but here's a brief intro:
Here are some clips of 4 of the main riders.
No doubt the best rider right now, is Ryan Villopoto who raises for Monster / Kawasaki. Last year he won the SuperCross and MotoCross title and the first ever MonsterCup which was a hybrid race of outside and inside. He won a cool million dollars for winning that race:
Next is my favourite race, Chad Reed for races for Two/Two / Honda:
Chad was making a great run for the championship last year, but suffered a really bad crash that he amazingly got up from and finished the race.
Next is Ryan Dungy, who raced for Rockstar Suzuki last year, but made the bold jump to Red Bull / KTM orange this year. He's also a favourite of mine.
Next is James Stewart who races for Red Bull / Yamaha. James is one fast dude, but many think he's just to reckless. He's been in a ton of crashes and toss-ups. Part of racing is being in control. In the first race this weekend, he had the fastest lap times, but again, he got into a wipe out.
Here's James Stewart in his qualifying lap from a GoPro helmet cam:
Here's the entire final race of round one in Anaheim, California this past weekend:
