I've been getting really tired of Google and other search engines assuming I can't spell the term I want to search. Was trying to find the last edition of a piece of software called TexEdit and Google provides dozens of links to TextEdit, even if the term is wrapped in quotes.
Today on kijiji I was trying to find a piece of VHS editing equipment and it simply refused to allow me to eliminate the word "Edition" from the search, so I had to plow through dozens of ads for old VHS tapes billed as "special editions." I understand the need to cater to moderately bad spellers, but not the need to perform this sort of wrong-headed assumption of the searcher's intent. I often need to go through two or three steps to perform a simple accurate search.
