If any of you have been reading the internet in the past 48 hours, you've undoubtedly heard of SOPA.

Can somebody explain to me why this hasn't exploded into an international incident already? What the US is suggesting has GLOBAL ramifications, because the internet is a GLOBAL resource.
I don't understand how these people have become so corrupt- so mindlessly retarded by the "entertainment" industry- that they can honestly believe they can just go ahead and filter the ENTIRE internet, everywhere, at once.
Does this not constitute some sort of planet-wide "threat"? Do other countries not have the right (or rather, obligation) to stand up and say "No, you're not filtering stuff that is perfectly legal within OUR country"?
Or is the answer to that simply "If you don't like it, make your own internet"?
Frankly, the stupidity surrounding this **** makes me think we'd all be better off just routing around the USA and letting them get on with life and trucking towards the corporate police state that country is inevitably arriving at. Have fun with your self-contained internet, guys- take your net un-neutrality filtered bull**** and keep it to yourself.
Everyone else can enjoy their free, open worldwide network where sharing knowledge and information is not a crime worthy of punishment similar to that of murder.
