To quote an acquaintance
Okay, so they recently said that there is 48 hours of video uploaded to youtube every minute.

that means there's 2880 hours per hour, or 69120 hours of new video per day.

Mathing backwards, that means there's 2880 days of video uploaded per day, or 7.89 years of video per day.

So if someone says something on the internet was "so yesterday" you can correct them - it was "so 8 years ago".

Or, if you lost your internet connection for 2 weeks, you'd be over a century behind the internet.

and that's just on youtube.

Back in the Winter semester in 1997, when I did my first web course, everyone was so impressed. Now, when I tell people that I am a teleprofessor, some people just say "That's nice". How times have changed in just 14 years.
