Unfortunately society continues to infantilize teenagers...good and bad and to make things even worse, I think governments like to infantilize our whole society. It wasn't so long ago when 16 and 17 year olds were working full time at their trades and raising families. The longer the lifespan we enjoy, the worse the trend.
The traditional age of beginning an apprenticeship was 13 or 14. This agrees with both the ages of jr. High or beginning secondary school. It is also the age of having to decide an academic stream in many counties.
Right now governments are trying to push adolescence into the 30's if they can.
While I agree this is great, the pessimist in me wants to know what is in it for Siemens? Patent the technology and sell it to hospitals for billions?
