Amazingly, Dubai doesn't have a sewage infrastructure to support its skyscrapers, including the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Drivers said they'd been queuing for three days! Unsurprising then, that many dump their loads into storm drains that lead directly to the open sea. Tourists are warned of the risk of contracting serious illnesses like typhoid and hepatitis if swimming on Dubai beaches.
Where does all the poop go in Dubai? Millions of people and no sewers, just holding tanks and "poop" trucks. We found this lineup out on the highway and never found the end of it. We asked the drivers and they had been there for three days. Maybe why they now just dump it in the ocean and the beaches are closed.
I look at all this "splendour" and I just have to hang my head and think what waste it all is. Its like they're saying "look we have your money. Now where going to blow it on stupid stuff and get even more of your money as you gawk at what we've done. F you western world!"
I'm sure it's the same sentiment a lot of people in the east think when they look at cities in the US like New York and Times Square.
Also, every large city has their problems. New York still has a rat infestation problem and they estimate there might be over 70 million rats in the city.
I hate the commentary in the video. Don't care about the language, but the red-neck, hillbilly jabs about curry, and mocking their accent and having poop beards etc... :roll eyes: Definitely racist undertones.
They do have a sewer treatment plant, it's just that they need to dramatically increase capacity to avoid the huge queue that is causing drivers to illegally dump. You can see the sewer treatment plant on Google maps. Zoom in and look up to the right, and you can see the queue of red trucks lined up.
