The exercise starts with a $390-million deficit, as the province projected for 2011-12 back when Steele released the budget in April. The latest forecast is a $319-million deficit.
The minister said the website will also remind people that taxes and services they pay for are tied together.
“If you want to spend more money on another area, that’s great, but let’s have a serious conversation about where you’re going to raise the money to pay for it,” he said.
“If you want your taxes cut, fabulous, but let’s have a serious conversation about where you’re going to spend less money.”
Damn that socialist NDP government; inviting the bloody commoners into the business of giving corporations tax breaks!
