The BBC has dropped a climate change episode from its wildlife series Frozen Planet to help the show sell better abroad.

British viewers will see seven episodes, the last of which deals with global warming and the threat to the natural world posed by man.

However, viewers in other countries, including the United States, will only see six episodes.

The environmental programme has been relegated by the BBC to an “optional extra” alongside a behind-the-scenes documentary which foreign networks can ignore.

Maybe it has something to do with the past couple or three rather brutal winters over in fairy tale land.

If you look at the Great Gore's carbon footprint it becomes obvious he considers his "The sky is falling" line to be pure crap. May be why Tipper hit the road.

His home energy consumption is ~20x the national average and increasing every year. Not to mention the private jets and limos idling for that quick getaway lest someone sneak into one of his lectures and ask a tough question.

It's difficult to believe that so many people are sucked into Harper's scam.

If you want to disagree with science, then you can. Do not justify your beliefs with ad hominem.

It's amazing how many so-called intelligent people enjoy stuffing their heads up their own ... sorry, stuffing their heads in the sand when it comes to the threat our own pollution is creating towards the sustainability of the human race.

Forget global warming/climate change ... whether you believe in it or not doesn't really matter. Human beings are good at adapting. If we don't do something about the pollution issue, however, the human race will collapse long before the climate gets a chance to kill us.

Well, people can believe in imaginary friends, so why not believe in man made global warming. It's not like there's any real evidence for either. The climate changes with or without us, the earth doesn't care. Nothing we did caused caused the ice age, and nothing we did reversed it. The only thing constant is change, live with it.

You mean ignore as in in AGW climate change deniers ignorance.....just being clear.

Pollution control is laudable but will not change the reality of cooking the planet .....if anything it slows it somewhat.

See S02 abatement and also geo-engineering.

Brown clouds from pollution reduce solar radiance reaching the surface by upwards of 25%

Pick your poison - AGW or lung conditions....they are BOTH anthro originated.

Not accepting AGW as fundamental part of our existence is just flat out stupid and ignorant.

It's proven beyond even the shadow of a doubt and has been since the 90s.
Even by the fossil fuel company's own scientists.
Just what don't you understand about this rather simple concept??

Industry Ignored Its Scientists on Climate

By ANDREW C. REVKINPublished: April 23, 2009

For more than a decade the Global Climate Coalition, a group representing industries with profits tied to fossil fuels, led an aggressive lobbying and public relations campaign against the idea that emissions of heat-trapping gases could lead to global warming.

“The role of greenhouse gases in climate change is not well understood,” the coalition said in a scientific “backgrounder” provided to lawmakers and journalists through the early 1990s, adding that “scientists differ” on the issue.

But a document filed in a federal lawsuit demonstrates that even as the coalition worked to sway opinion, its own scientific and technical experts were advising that the science backing the role of greenhouse gases in global warming could not be refuted.
But then some refuse the evidence of evolution as well - you just can't cure stupid and wilful blindness.

Get rid of Ohio coal plants and you reduce the impact of BOTH.

Keep building new ones like the foolish gov in Alberta and their blind electorate ......and contribute to BOTH.

Hey by all means ship out another batch of Palm Trees, they will probably last almost as long as the last ones. Should be ready to use as firewood by 2013, though they are not nearly as good as the fire-kill Spruce we usually burn.

In the meantime going with the forecasts of those Sunspotters, the ones who have been right for the past 3 years, we are hunkering down for yet another colder than normal winter.

Yes, back in the echo chamber, those who persist in using blogs instead of peer-reviewed science continue to pat each other on the back about their increasingly narrow world view.

Meanwhile, the real world has moved on from identifying the problem to trying to solve it.
