Hi everyone,
I've been thinking of selling my old iMac and I wanted to make sure that my pricing is reasonable.

The specs:
17" matte screen
1.5 Gb of RAM
1.83 Ghz Intel Core Duo
160GB in hard drive space

It's the original spec with additional RAM.

Comes with Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard, model S530

What would a reasonable price be?

Thanks

Is it a core duo or core2 duo?
A local used computer store in my area has 10+ core2 duos with almost identical specs for $399 + HST.

The issues with the value of CoreDuo machines is that they won't run Lion anymore. So IMHO that renders them a little more obsolete.

That being said, I've seen the value of 2006/2007 17" iMacs hovering around the $300-350 mark for the last year or so on eBay. Not sure if the Lion issue makes them a little less?

These have been going for $150 + shipping on eBay the last few days. I know because I was looking to purchase one, but fell asleep just before the auction ended and missed out.

How much does it cost to reliably ship an iMac though? $100? Better be within Canada, since it could be more than that.

$100?? Nah, shipping doesn't cost that much. It's $40 shipping, within Canada (from Alberta).

I shipped a desktop tower once (it was heavy), to northern Canada, cost around $35, fully insured.
