My sister needs a new laptop and she wants to go PC... Uggghhhh... just to save money.

I am doing my damnedest to convince her not to go this route. Her budget is small $500 -$700... she wants to stay on the lower end but I think I can convince her to go on the high end....

Anyone have anything they are looking to unload?

BOUGHT

Thanks to imactheknife I/my sister is no longer in need of a Macbook, 13" MacBook Pro or Macbook Air.

Cheers to imactheknife!

I saw a post the other day for a Macbook Air refurb for 699, not sure if was the CDN or US store though :(

Thanks Elric. Right now the cheapest Macbook Air in the CDN refurb store is $869, so that is too expensive for her, but thanks for the response, much appreciated.

Hi John... Sorry I am only seeing this now. It is a good MBA at a good price just more than my sister is willing to spend.

HI Screature,

I have a mid 2008 Macbook that is in really nice shape (some outer scratches that are part of owning a white macbook). It has a 2.1 Core 2 Duo chip, 2 gigs of ram, 120 Gig Hd, superdrive. It comes with the Magsafe adaptor.

The only issue is there are 2-3 small white spots on the very lower bottom of the screen. They are hardly noticable, and only when there is a certain background color.
They have been there since I bought it. Battery still holds a good charge as well.

This unit of course also has wireless, isight and bluetooth built in. It comes with snowleopard but no disks.

It is a fast little unit which I have no problem keeping if your not interested.

I would part with this for $350 shipped. If not satisfied (check it out and play with it), you can return it for a full refund, but on your postage which I think would be fair considering. If you want the SL disk I can part with it for $25. I think they are new for $40 bucks + tax. (will do a clean install as well)

Hi imactheknife,

Could you either post or PM me a few images of the Macbook especially showing me what you are talking about where you say, "The only issue is there are 2-3 small white spots on the very lower bottom of the screen.", as I am not quite sure what you are referring to when you say this. Otherwise it sounds like a definite possibility.

Thanks for posting this, much appreciated. :)

HI there Screature,
I will post some pictures tonight when I get in. It is sort of the same thing with the powerbooks a few years back. They are really small, whereas some of the powerbook white spots were the size of a quarter! these are maybe 1/8 in Diameter as the closest I can describe without a picture. Like I said I don't even notice them because they are at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks Mark

Thanks Mark... I trust it is what you say it is but as I will be making the purchase for my sister and she is quite persnickety, I need to have the "visual evidence" otherwise if she is unhappy I will hear about it for a very long time... :o Hope you understand.

Hey again, here are some pictures. You can see them just above the macbook. They are not that noticeable. Let me know when you can. Another ehmac member is interested if you decide against it. Cheers Mark

Looks great to me Mark, like you say it is hardly noticeable.... I am VERY interested. Can you PM me with your details for shipping, payment etc. I think this will suit my sister's need perfectly!
