Anyone have any recommendations/opinions on journaling apps for iPad?

Thanks in advance.

I use Mariner Software's MacJournal (http://www.marinersoftware.com/products/macjournal/) a fair bit. (Version 2x) I really like it. Haven't compared it to many other programs, but at the time I remember it being well reviewed.

I think they have a demo to download and even a 30 day money back guarantee if you pay for it. Video's on the site too.

Here's the Macworld Review. (http://www.macworld.com/product/412530/mariner_software_macjournal_514.html)

Thanks ehMax! Have you tried the iPad version? How does that stand up??

I think I have it narrowed to MacJournal and MaxJournal, but I know there are others to consider as well.

Is there an iPad version of moleskin? I use it daily on my iPhone 4

I'm not sure if there's an iPad version or not, but I LOVE the Memento iPhone app. I've been using it since January or so and it's lovely. Lets you do individual entries and is passcode locked. Plus, you can connect up your facebook, twitter and foursquare accounts.... their entries get filed along with your journal entries chronologically by date/time. I find it an interesting way to look back at what I was doing and where my headspace was at the time. The addition of seeing where you checked in on foursquare, what you were talking about on twitter/facebook paints quite a full picture when combined with my actual entries in Memento.

I've been using MacJournal on my iPad but it's not native. I love the syncing from computer to iPad. I did notice that an entry done on the iPad didn't carry over to my Mac on one of the syncs.

chris, there's an iPad version of moleskin (which I have) but it's just a notepad, I was looking for a dedicated journal.

jakkob, it's iphone only still :-(

csonni, I looked at macjournal too (and there is an iPad version here (http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/macjournal-for-ipad/id391499253?mt=8)) but ultimately the layout stuff in Maxjournal won me over.

So, is there an actual Mac Desktop version of MaxJournal? If so, it's not listed with MacUpdate. I like the layout of MaxJournal, but if there's no Desktop version, MacJournal would be the only other choice for me.

Yes there is, I use it every day on the mac, iphone and ipad. I use it mostly for logging what I do at work.
MacJournal 5.2.7 on the mac.

Csonni, I don't know I didn't even look. I'm happy as long as the data is backed up (which of course it is when I sync the iPad) :-)

racewalker- I meant MaxJournal, not MacJournal. By the way, I just purchased MacJournal for iPad. Looks great.
