: Copy and Paste problem in Mail
steadfast May 23rd, 2011, 06:29 PM Never had this one happen to me before. I am using Snow Leopard. When I try to copy something from Firefox onto a new message I am sending. A previous site from 8 days ago keeps getting put in the message rather than the site I am trying to send. Is there a way to clear the "paste" function in Mail. Now I do use the Command "C" copy and Command "P" paste method.
mkolesa May 23rd, 2011, 10:01 PM how about using 'command + c' to copy and 'command + v' to paste? likewise 'command + x' can be used to remove text before inserting it elsewhere using 'command + v'.
Ottawaman May 23rd, 2011, 10:07 PM Yes, Mokelas is onto the right answer i believe. I never heard of command P, unless that's just a typo?

Command+P reminds me of my days on the Dark Side, Windows+P for paste :ptptptptp
crawford May 24th, 2011, 08:49 AM Sometimes Command+C (copy) and Command+V (paste) just don't work the way that you expect. Try selecting the text that you want to copy and select Copy from the Edit menu in Firefox (or the right-click pop-up menu).
eMacMan May 24th, 2011, 09:16 AM "Command v" is the traditional Mac Paste command. "Command p" should bring up the printer dialog.
crawford May 24th, 2011, 10:01 AM That's what happens when I type without reading carefully. Of course, Command+V is the shortcut for paste. I'll edit my post.
However, selecting copy and paste from the menu is sometimes the better option; keyboard shortcuts don't always work.
steadfast May 24th, 2011, 03:29 PM Excuse me while I wipe the egg off my face:eek: The typo was of my doing. I use command "C" and command "v" to copy and paste. Never having used Windows I cannot blame a crossover of systems for y error:D
So now i'll read the rest of the posts
Thanks
mkolesa May 24th, 2011, 07:10 PM you can also select (highlight) the text, right click on it, go to 'copy', then go to the new document, position the cursor, right click, and go to 'paste'
steadfast May 27th, 2011, 04:22 PM Well I found a work around. Using the hints listed here, I now use the "edit" copy and when I transfer the message to mail, I use the "edit" paste and things work. The keyboard shortcuts do not work for me? But I'm Happy, Thank you folks:)
