Somehow, I keep ending up with subscriptions to threads, which sends email notification every time somebody posts anything here. I was subscribed to 50 odd threads, without knowing how it happened. Way buried down, I found a way to manually delete each one, and now I am again re-suscribed to at least some.

I have discovered the secret.

The option that sends out notifications is NOT under "Subscribed Threads". It is under a different heading, and then under "Edit Options", and quite a ways down the list of options at that.

I have the opposite problem. If I post i a thread, I want to be notified if someone replies. I have the default set to subscribe, and I have verified that I am subscribed to threads using the "Thread Tools" drop down, but I never receive any email about replies.

edit: hopefully I remember to check this thread, as I won't get the notification :)
