apparently, there was a way to do this thru UT. However, the umod thing show up
with a slash through it, so I'm assuming it won't run on my Mac. Oh well-end of an era

I also have a funky LaCie adapter...dunno what it does
model # on the box is ACU 034A -apparently 2 pairs of pins are for 12 v,
and 2 pairs are for 5 volt....
