Hi all,

This seems to be the correct RAM for my iMac 2.8/ 8,1 but I can't tell for certain.

Any help is appreciated!

Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2x2GB) 800MHz DDR2 SODIMM System Specific Memory for Apple (KTA-MB800K2/4G) | Canada Computers (http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_309&item_id=024200)

The KTA-MB800K2/4G is the correct model Kingston RAM for your iMac8,1 model

The "Kingston ValueRAM" in their product title is a misnomer -- this is not the KVR- ValueRAM series (which we don't recommend for Macs)

Why not?

KVR- ValueRAM series (which we don't recommend for Macs)

Why not?

Kingston does not guarantee compatibility of their KVR series with Macs.

The KVR products are liable to change circuit board and chipset without notice, so this month's production could be differently constructed from last.

We experienced major compatibility issues with some KVR DDR and DDR2 modules in the past.

KVR or KTA? This RAM is KTA.

KVR = Kingston ValueRAM = Generic

KTA = Kingston Apple = guaranteed compatible with Mac
