: For Sale PowerBook G3 500 (FIrewire/Pismo) - for parts
acc30 Jan 6th, 2011, 06:21 PM Selling this old powerbook G3 for parts.
No longer starts, or it did, but I was only getting a blank screen a year ago.
Does not include the yoyo power adapter, cd drive and wireless card as they had been sold.
I don't have the time to really take it a part, and would prefer to get rid of it as a whole, of whatever is left.
$30 or give me an offer.
K2ACP Jan 9th, 2011, 10:57 PM Did you try resetting the PRAM?
acc30 Jan 10th, 2011, 08:23 AM I reset the pram before, the first time I tried using it again and worked. I have no intentions of using this anymore that's why I just want to sell it if people needs it for parts by any chance.
thanks
Strimkind Jan 11th, 2011, 10:06 PM I'd go further than this. Remove the PRAM battery all together. WHen they are dead in a Pismo it will take up to an hour to respond. When they have been removed (or unplugged), it boots right up. I have done this with quite a few pismo's.
You just have to remove the keyboard, the main battery, and the optical drive. Once you have done that, you can unplug the battery, it is in the optical bay.
Plug it in, and it should work like a charm!

Worked for mine last year...

Also worked for me. I'm hoping it'll charge up since I don't want to have to buy a new PRAM battery for it.
iSteve Feb 16th, 2011, 01:17 PM Is this still available and if yes is the keyboard in good condition? Just revived my old one and it has a broken key and this would be perfect to replace. Please PM me - thanks!
