Given the amount of crossover... maybe we could consider merging the threads? Something like "Everything iOS" :)

The separation of the iPad certainly made sense in the early days when we were posting madly, speculating, etc., but now - not so much, IMHO.

Trying to work that out. The problem is, I heavily rely on Google's search engine for visitor to come to ehMac and clicking on ads for revenue. Changing the URL with the behind the scenes software I use really messes up with Google's index on the site. Trying to workout a method with as least negative impact as possible.

Went ahead and did it anyways. :o We now have Anything Mac and All iOS. :)

ehMac.ca is also now officially "Canada's Mac & iOS Community"

The iOS platform is such a huge part of the Apple ecosystem now. We now have a dedicated forum for iOS devices.

LOL. :)

So far... not a major hit from Google, but a bit of one. No worries, the two separate forums were really bugging me.

A big improvement Mr. Mayor. Now if you could just move the Photo Section on top of the Classifieds, ehMac will pretty darn near perfect. :D

Funny you should mention that. I was think... Originally the "Photos" section was to replace our previous Gallery to that it was a place to upload photos. It's turned a bit more into a section to discuss digital photography.

What do you guys things of turning it into a specific digital photography forum (And moving it above the Classifieds)

Well people still talk about general photography issues so I don't know about making it "a section to discuss digital photography" but would rather it be a section to discuss photography in general... and yes put it above the Classifieds... my thoughts.... :)

That will all sort itself out as Google catches up and re-caches all of the content in the new location. At the end of the day you shouldn't take any SEO hits for that, it's all the same content, just consolidated into a single forum. That is as long as the old locations are being redirected (via 301) to the new locations and not just coming back at 404 errors for missing pages. I _think_ VB SEO should handle that for you ...

As for the position of the photography forum, personally it doesn't matter to me .. I almost always access the photography are from the top nav bar as opposed to one of the main forum listings.
