Purchased June 2007. The logic board is DEAD!!!

I have two batteries in good working order.
The screen was in excellent condition.
The HD was fine. (250 GB or 320 GB I can't quite remember).
Case is in great condition too.
Keyboard was working fine.

Did I mention the logic board is DEAD?!?

he didn't state what he had for ram but for only $300 you could invest in more ram and it would probably run almost anything without the beach ball showing up.

Edit - Apple states it maxes out at 4g but unofficially it will take 6g so photoshop shouldn't be a problem.

I think you can just juice them up with more RAM to counteract the logic board problems. But since it has Apple Care until 2012, who cares?

That model has the 8600 video chip, which has a repair program by apple. If that was the problem then apple would repair it for free.

not sure about the ram but the processor is good, I heard someone say the logic boards on this model are a bit flaky though.

I did take it to the Genius bar and they tested it. Said it wasn't the video chip as far as I can remember. I also talked to the people at Mainly Mac who said it sounded like a dead logic board. (They didn't seem too interested in looking at it though.).

Only with the ram maxed out, logic board should be fast enough.

Apple didn't tell me. The hard drive has been sold separately, the display, ram, case, power cable; etc are still in great shape.

Price is now negotiable since the hard drive (160 GB) is gone.
