Thinking of selling my iBook 1.33 with 1 gb of RAM, Combo drive, 12" screen
Battery still gets 3.5 hours - 4 hours
No dead pixels, No cracks, Still looks new.
No system discs (I'm the second owner and they didn't give me system discs)
I can install OS 10.4

What's this iBook worth?

Full spec's at EveryMac dot com (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/stats/ibook_g4_1.33_12.html)

Thinking of selling it because I hardly use it anymore,
Also I'm thinking of buying an iPad.

I checked out prices on this model for someone earlier this month. I have seen these offered on craigslist in Toronto at an asking price of about $250 to $275.

I bought a 14-inch 1.33 GHz ibook in Montreal for $250 a while back, so $250 to $275 is reasonable, maybe a touch on the high side.

So if I ask for $300. with a sleeve, Then there is a possibility that I'll sell it?
I'll have to photograph it, Wipe the drive and install a new system.

Might try posting it soon then.

Thanks

$200-$250 if you want it sell it fact. It may take longer to sell at $300 if you market is like here. There are a few people asking for $300 and they have been on the local classifieds for a while now.

Mac2Sell tells me that it isn't worth selling, May as well keep it as a netbook.
Thanks for getting my hopes up, Oh well.

Thanks for all the replies.

I would estimate it about the same as Mac2Sell - $100-$150 depending on condition. They aren't good for much, if anything, beyond basic web browsing (wikipedia, newspapers) and email.

Mac2Sell's pricing has been off for sometime now... In the end, it's not what they value it at, but what you can sell it for. As other posts have indicated, in good working order, these units move for around $200-$275 on a pretty regular basis on local classifieds. If you check EveryMac.com (http://www. everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/stats/ibook_g4_1.33_12.html) you'll see they value the unit at $350-450!? That's too high (I've seen entry level MacBooks sell for the higher end if that), but, if you average the two prices out, you'll find they match what people ARE paying for these.

Yes, But the iBook can run OS 9 Classic,
That's still a sought after feature by quite a few people.

Maybe that's why I never bought a MacBook.

I can still run a lot of my old OS 9 programs using Classic.

For something like YouTube they're woefully inadequate. Staccato stop-motion.

A small drop in a very large pond.

True, But some people use an iBook for other reasons besides the Internet.
I can still hook up my midi piano to it and run Arturia Storm through it,
Or hook up my Roland Edirol Digital Canvas.

Run some old games...Hmmmm....This might still be a keeper.

Keep it. With netbooks everywhere, "perfectly usable older laptops" aren't really all that easy to resell.
Remember, "posted with a price" on the classifieds is different from "sells at that price".

OS9 is hot. But then again I can pick up a G3 iMac that runs anything written for OS9 for between free and $30.
