I'm looking to swap out my current laptop hard drive (2.5" SATA, 7200 rpm) for something a lot bigger (1 TB, but will settle for 500+ GB). Can anyone direct me to bricks-and-mortar retailers/wholesalers in Toronto that will have what I need? Thanks.
P.S. I'm no interested in Western Digital drives.

I am only personally aware of the WD Scorpio Blue (so 5400 rpm) being available in 1TB... It's a great drive, I'm using one in my MacBook and it's usually available through Canada Computer's.

isn't the 1TB WD drive 12.5mm high? does that fiy in a macbook pro?
p.s. to the OP, you can try canadacomputers.com to look at pricing, and i you're willing to go to markham ncix.com also has a lot of drives.

It fits in the unibody MacBook as well as certain Pro models... Not 100% on exactly which Pros.

It's irrelevant to my query; as I stated in my initial post, I have no interest in WD hard drives. But thanks for the Canada Computers tip and link. I'm all over it.

I was thinking on upping the HDD in my 2008 MBP, so it's relevant to me :)

Seagate has the 1TB Barracuda at Tiger Direct, but, it's never available!
I know of a couple of other manufacturers who have announced 1TB notebook drives, but have never seem them in stock.
What's your issue with WD? The Scorpio Blue line is very highly recommended in MacBooks.
