bsenka Jul 17th, 2010, 11:17 PM Considering you can buy a brand new one with better specs for about $600 less, yes, he wants too much.
i-rui Jul 17th, 2010, 11:17 PM if he was actually including the FULL software licenses and registration then it'd actually be a very good price.
But since he's including the software as "installed" for $200 extra, it's pretty obvious that he's NOT including the full REAL version, so not only is this a TERRIBLE deal it's also illegal.
Like, it's one thing to say you'll leave on software so that the new buyer can use and try it out, but to actually charge for it on an already insanely high price is just a pure scumbag move.
The fact that apple has a BETTER model (with 256GB solid state drive) for $2449 in their refurb section just goes to show how clueless this douchebag seller is.
SD-B Jul 18th, 2010, 09:19 AM but i am reading this as that it is $3,000 with just snow leopard on it-------and $200 more for extra software?
Is it possible with upgrades at the time of purchase a 15" could be worth that much???
I thought 15" were about $1,700-$2,000................i dont see where the $3,000 comes from
knightwrangler Jul 18th, 2010, 09:49 AM This is getting really ridiculous, the other day I was researching the price of a used iPod 60-80-120 & 160 classic and then went and checked out prices on some of the more popular buy/sell websites.
Everybody wants way too much- some are in fairly good condition but most have been used and abused (lots of scratches-no protection used) and don't even come with some of the bundled accessories.
When I responded to a few of these ads and quote the re-sell price, these so called "sellers" are not even open to negotiating on their prices!
Typical response is: "price is firm", "I'm getting higher offers", "thanks for the lowball", "buy it from someone else", or they respond and agree to the price then they back out.
The sheer nerve of some of these people has started to put me off from these buy/sell websites altogether!
It's not like the iPod is made from gold after all!
SD-B Jul 18th, 2010, 11:52 AM Ive sold a lot of things on the sites you speak of but I always sell an item the very first day it is posted because I do offer everything at a fair price.
Admittedly, most people are quite shocked when dealing with me, to find out there isn't anything hidden that I spring upon them, or that the condition of the article is as new as i say it is OR if not, I am always 100% honest up front----it seems to me that most must lie on those sites but I don't understand why for it is a waste of time.
So, out of curiosity, what do you think would be a fair price for a 15" MacBook Pro, with 4Gig ram, no apple care, late 2008 model, 250Gig hard drive, in perfect condition with just snow leopard installed-----but not given a copy of Snow Leopard---just installed?
knightwrangler Jul 18th, 2010, 12:11 PM Your asking me...? lol
Certainly more than $500 but less than say $800 I would guess off the top of my head.
SD-B Jul 18th, 2010, 12:29 PM Your asking me...? lol
Certainly more than $500 but less than say $800 I would guess off the top of my head.
Really?
I would have thought at least $1,000
but I haven't looked into it yet
but I wold be shocked to think it would be as low as u r suggesting
but i might be wrong
knightwrangler Jul 18th, 2010, 12:39 PM There are the last generation 13" 2.26Ghz Macbook Pro's selling for around $850-950...
knightwrangler Jul 18th, 2010, 12:47 PM I just re-read your posting and I thought you had the 13" model!
For your uni-body 15" I'd roughly guess in the low to mid $900 range.
SD-B Jul 18th, 2010, 02:53 PM Despite the prices on CL or other online spots, the problem being today is that EVERYONE assumes they can talk you down so if you do put anything up there for sale, you have to put it up higher than what you want for no one wants to pay the price you ask.
They don't seem to feel good unless they talk you down something so it has inflated prices for anyone that does sell regularly on these forums.
Hence, the prices are only inflated
