I got a Macbook the beginning of November 2007, and besides a new power cable, I've had no problems. I was using it as usual this morning... and then turned it off. I went to turn it back on later, and it won't turn on.

It makes the "duhhhh" noise, and it is just constantly loading, spinning in circles. It eventually will get to a light blue screen (and more spinning in circles), and then I finally get a light blue screen with a cursor.

I took the battery out and put it back in, and got the same result. I've spent the past hour trying to turn it on.

Did you run the hardware test or try booting from either your back-up or the install DVD?
You can also run Disk Utility from the DVD and try to repair your hard drive.

What you have described is very similar to what happened last week to my girlfriend's iMac. In her case it was a hard drive failure and the drive had to be replaced. I'd call or take it into Apple.
