I don't want to mess with your sale, but GTA Craigslist and Kijiji sees these sell for between $80-$150 regularily, your price is probably a bit to high still!

what they have on craigslist is sketchy at best. there are those of us who'd rather not deal with that.
mine is sealed, brand new, and guaranteed to work especially with this whole "activation process".

No offense, but given that this is pretty much a "Mac fanbois" website, are there many people here who would even have a use for Windows 7, let alone the Ultimate edition? What can you do in Windows that you can't do on a Mac? Just curious.

This would make a good topic for another thread ... but not here

More like, why did you need to install windows on your mac ...

I think it's more of an issue with OEM Windows 7 Ultimates that can be bought retail for 199 or less. Although OEM copies have limitations when it comes to installation on only one PC, people get around this easily by calling MS for new activation codes (who give them out without issue) and stores sell these individually rather then bundled with systems as they are supposed to.

just giving you some insight why others' are talking about your price. Your offer is still good.. for someone looking for a retail copy.

The low priced one's on Craigslist, eBay and Kijiji are either OEM's or NFR's

Nope, there are full retail, same as the OP is selling for less than $100... Just picked up a copy for my Dad locally on CL for father's day... $70 cash, and it was still sealed.

I'm thinking the fact that ten months have gone by with no bites must tell you something. What's the minimum you would be looking for?

$250 firm. i think that's reasonable.

... What can you do in Windows that you can't do on a Mac? Just curious.

You can run Linguist's Toolbox and Fieldworks, from SIL International, which has only an OS 9 version, no OS 10 versions at all.

That's the use i would have for this. So I am very interested, for use with Parallels 6.

But the asking price I saw here was way too steep.

Basic marketing: a) you have an item everyone wants and you can set your asking price, b) you have an item low in demand so your asking price must be flexible, and c) you just want to get rid of something so you'll practically give it away. For reference, read up on the XOOM and its asking price and compare to the iPad2. A sale at a reduced price is still better than no sale at all.

or d) you're happy to offer the item at the same price over the next 20 years, and you'd rather see it sitting on the shelf and devaluing than sell it to someone at less than that price.

Ah yes, the inevitable fourth option. Check out all the video stores that decided charging late fees was more important than keeping customers. Or homeowners who pulled their homes off the MLS when they refused to lower the selling price.

So I am stuck using Windoze XP. I mean when I hafta use Toolbox. For all normal computer uses, I still have OS 10.6.6.

Or how about the ones that did drop the late fees and have taken large revenue hits because of it, only later to reverse their no late fees option to keep from going bankrupt.

autocad has been on the mac since last fall.
you can certainly game on a mac (although i agree it's inferior)
you can also customize the OS on macs...not really with skins, but in many other ways.

Actually you can skin OSX (Shapeshifter, Magnifique) depending on the version and you can always customize your icons with CandyBar... I have hardly any stock icons on my system as I really don't like those blue folders at all.

So there goes G3 Man's 3rd point shot down as well. :D

OK. So after reading back the original post and the replies that followed (note to self: I should always read previous posts!!), I've decided to sell it at $150.

I'm sorry for the fluctuation in asking price. I just didn't read my earlier posts before posting a new message - my bad. Anyway, I hope someone will have use for it.

Thanks for reading.

as fjnmusic stated, this is probably not the best site to sell this on, a pc site would have better activity for you, but then again they might expect it for less as well. jmo, good luck though.

Hi

Is this the 32 bit version?

I need the 32 for a piece of software which says it wont work on the 64 (even if I can flip it to 32).

Cheers
