Despite the Darwinian nature of this slide, it appears that there were only two victims.

That has to qualify as a minor miracle.

My uncle used to live year round at his cottage on a lake in the north eastern us....every spring some one would get drunk and drive there snowmobile across the lake and of course sink...local goverment issued signage for the lake warning of thin ice and didnt change the fatality rate....and to quote him stupidity cant be mandated and no matter what people are going to do what they want even if it kills them.

But I do feel sorry for those that have lost there lives

Snow is softer and a bit more forgiving than other activities worthy of the Darwin Awards.

The video clips I saw of the organizer of the event doesn't exactly come across as a great intellectual.
