How long does it take for a Classified Ad to be Reviewed ?

Seems like it takes a pretty long time.

It takes a very long time... what's up with how long it takes to get a classified posted?

Holy $#**, some patience dude. You posted the ad like 4 hours ago, ask a question here 2.5 hours ago then reply to yourself and hour later. I'm not on the site full time. :)

Patience is indeed a virtue... Except when money is involved... :lmao: Just used to other sites where they go up immediately. ;) Also that is the way it was before things changed. I would think that classifieds from long time members could somehow be filtered from the "spam" filter of Mods having to view them "manually" could be implemented... or is this too much to ask? And I mean that sincerely as I really don't know.

Ok now I am PO'd .

I posted an ad YESTERDAY and it still isn't up. I suppose I will have to go to the trouble of resubmitting it! There has got to be a better way!!

Ads are being approved in less that 24 hours, often much sooner. Your previous ad was approved yesterday and has been up for awhile.

You need to have some patience, stop exaggerating and stop whining.

It wasn't there when I checked this morning. It is NOW... nice back tracking. ;) Where was I exaggerating? Isn't this the place to "whine" about problems with the forum, i.e. "Feedback and comment"... or do you only want compliments.

I think the current format for classifieds isn't working very well. It is constantly littered with sold items. It would be helpful if they were cleared out after a reasonable period of time.

no offense mayor, but my experiences tend to be similar to screatures.

It usually takes more than 24 hours to get my ads approved, and in some cases i've waited several days.

Don't get me wrong - i DO very much appreciate the fact that ehmac offers a BST forum for it's users, but i do think it could be better served with some changes.

Perhaps automatic approval for users with 100+ posts? Ability to delete threads?

Just throwing things out there. I think the biggest issue with the classified section seems to be a lack of traffic that goes there... so i'm not sure if any of those suggestions would remedy that, but they certainly couldn't hurt.

i-rui that is what I was suggesting as well, that after you have been around for a certain amount of time and shown you aren't here just to get into the classifieds, I don't see why your ads should have to be manually inspected to make sure they aren't spam.

It would also be nice to be able to delete your own thread after a sale if you choose to. As it is now you have to go through a bunch of sold items sometimes to find something that is still available.

I too appreciate the fact that the classifieds are here (despite my "whining" ;)) but I do think they could be improved... it seems they have a lot less traffic now than the "Wild West" days when I first came to ehMac. Not sad to see the spam and price police gone but there certainly is not as much legitimate activity any more either.

It doesn't take more than 24 hours for the past few weeks. That's 24 hours max, most are much, much sooner.

this ad took several days (i think 3 or 4?) before it came up :

Perhaps there's some internal error or delay inherent in the system that may delay certain posts from appearing in your queue to approve them?

Don't mean to pile on, but I posted an ad on Saturday to sell a couple of G5 CPUs, but it seems to have disappeared.

Mr Mayor

I would like to clarify my earlier post a little bit..... I am not complaining. Just natural (at least to me) curiosity as to what happened to my post. Did I goof and click "cancel" instead of "post"? Is there a glitch on ehMac's end that is eating up my post? Should I repost? etc

I think it would be nice, and less mysterious, if, upon submitting a "classified" post, ehMac generates an automatic email saying that the post have been received and it is under review. And, maybe somewhere on the website to have a counter of number of posts in the review queue. Something like "last approved post submitted XYZ, and there are N post left to review."

Just might cut down on the anxiety, confusion and nagging.
