No. Go crazy.

I see nothing in either Roger or Fido's FAQ that prohibits out of province. All the language refers to Canada. There are cautions about tethering out of the country.

No. Go crazy.

Correct. Data roaming applies to international. Data is data, nationally.

I'm a bit confused by the grammar here. The question is "Will I be able to...?" The answers seem to say "No, you will not be able to..." but the comments indicate go ahead.

Yes, he can tether anywhere in Canada.

Is that correct?

You missed the "without incurring charges part."

Yes, he can tether anywhere.

No, there won't be additional charges out of province. btw the same applies to SMS and MMS. Of course, voice calls are long distance (unless calling someone local to where you are).

Tether anywhere... I wonder if there is service on Baffin Island?

Hey Folks,

Wasn't sure where to post, but this thread seemed like a good spot. Long time Mac user and have been waiting on getting an iPhone. One week ago I picked up the black 16 GB iPhone G S and let me tell you... pretty cool. Signed on with Rogers and got the 6 GB data package. Family and I flew down to PEI and I'm currently sitting in my parent's farmhouse posting from my wife's MacBook via the tethering option on my iPhone. Very cool. Where they are located, the only option is dialup. While I'm not exactly setting any speed records (Edge where they are located), it is WAY faster than dial up. The applications are so much fun - my kids keep asking to "play with Daddy's phone". Absolutely no problems setting it up, just turn on tethering, connect to the Mac, and let her go. I tried it before I left (GTA) and it was the same thing, just plug and play (albeit much faster via 3G). I had checked with a rogers rep and was told that data is data, no matter where you are in Canada. Coming over from Bell to an iPhone was more expensive (i.e. just voice with Bell), but I'm getting so much more. To justify my extra expenditure I cancelled my paper (around $30/month). I find that after reading the paper every morning, I'm reading the same stories on-line in the evenings anyway. For anyone wondering about waiting whether the iPhone experience is worth it - come on in... the water's great!!!

No. I mean, it would be extra. You'd be roaming on Ice Wireless in order to use Rogers in Nunavut.

I suggest you contact Ice Wireless directly....

Thanks guys for all the response. I can serve the net while I am in BC without worrying about the bill. I don't think I will go Crazy:D

Man for a small wireless company serving the sparsely populated north, Ice Wireless sure has some really cool phones available. Sure you're paying full price for an unlocked phone without a contract but that's pretty sweet.

I think Rogers would be the one to give you roaming prices since they're the ones billing you.

Correct, so it's way cheaper to get a pay as you go SIM from Ice Wireless.

FYI, Ice Wireless' GSM network does NOT support data. Voice and text only.

Ice Wireless... very cool. I see they have an agreement with Rogers, so customers from both networks are covered. I might be driving to Inuvik next year... so my iPhone should work. :)

I was in Newfoundland recently and used my 3G iPhone bluetooth tethered to my MBP for internet access. It was great, faster performance than on my iPhone and much easier to browse the net and respond to emails.
