Might get around $650. Maybe a bit more because there is a wee bit of Applecare left.

Two sites worth having a look at for market prices:

Mac2Sell - Guide to used Mac & iPod - Evaluation - Argus Mac, iPod, iPhone Occasion (http://www.mac2sell.net/)

and

Used Mac (http://www.usedmac.com/)

Thanks... Mac2Sell quotes $900 and Usedmac has the same system with 1gb ram and 80 GB HD for $799.

Just wondering - why are you suggesting a much lower price?

Honestly looking at what you've included you could get $800 without waiting forever for a buyer. It's a nice deal overall, with the software package and accessories.

As you asked in your OP, mine was more of a ballpark figure based on what I've seen them sell for (including mine). I figured the links would provide you with a better lock-in on a price. You raise a good point about the larger HD and more RAM, so that influences the price somewhat. On the other hand, bear in mind that your MacBook is now a previous model, so a buyer is going to have a lot of compare it against relative to the new aluminum model. Also, of the added software you're offering, some might not be much of an enticement (OS X 10.4 and an old version of iWork), and including the currently installed OS is a given. Including iLife is a good enticement.

Of course, this is all just one guy's opinion. Others might see it differently.

There's certainly no harm in trying for $800 to see what happens.

I would say at least $800.

I read the specs and made my guess, without looking at replies. I had listing at $950 and selling at $850-900 in my head. I've been following the MacBook classifieds here in Ottawa pretty carefully for a few months now, and I'd say that's fair for what your offering.

I might post the older OS and iLife'09 separately though, since iLife would come with the Leopard install.

also, I sold a macbook (13-inch) 2.0 GHz intel core duo 1GB ram 160HD for $700. Posted at 8am, sold at noon. it had a fresh install of Tiger, thats it. no MS office, no iWork, no extra apps.

If your willing to wait, I think you can get a good price.

Actually, it's not included with the Leopard install, iLife is completely separate from the OS.

Really...

If I bought a MacBook (13-inch) with Tiger and iLife '06 on it, then purchase Leopard and install it, it will still have iLife '06?

Yes, when you buy a Mac it includes the latest iLife on the system restore disk, however when purchasing a standalone OS install it does not include a newer version of iLife, which means you would still have whatever version was last installed.

So, yes, you would still have iLife '06.

i would go for 800 too, though 750 might be more realistic. i've seen lots of 2008 macbooks up for 800-1000.
