Voiceover Master Don LaFontaine (http://www.DonLafontaine.com/DLF2007/Intro.html) has died. He was 68.

A voice actor famous for recording nearly 5,000 movie trailers, and nearly 350,000 commericals, programs, files and other presentations. He is arguably the most successful Voice Actor of all time.

Man... movie trailers will never be the same. :(

minute of silence?
I guess we wil still hear his work in weeks and maybe months to come. I wonder if he will be missed after that by us, the audience. RIP

A great shame, and so young.

At least we still have Hal Douglas, another popular movie v/o actor often mistaken for Don. Hal may be best known for the funniest damn movie trailer for a not-that-funny movie, Comedian.

Here's Don LaFontaine talking about his career:

Here is a short film (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQRtuxdfQHw) that is a tribute to the top voice over artists in Hollywood. It features Don LaFontaine and others.

Mr. LaFontaine was a very special and talented man. I'll miss his voice.
