Hello,

If any EhMac staff are reading this, just thought I'd let you know that I'm constantly getting database errors and the entire ehmac site becomes inaccessable.

Just wanted to let you know in case this isnt happening to everyone.

I'm also seeing this behavior.

As far as I could see the whole ehMac site was down from around 4pm until 6:30pm today (Thursday).
The servers ehMac is on have had problems for many weeks now - hope that gets fixed soon.

This afternoon there were problems with the server again.

Does anyone from ehMac actually read this Info Centre forum? I sometimes feel I'm posting into a big black hole here.

One thing for instance needs fixing is the last link in this message:

When I click on the last link "contact them", Apple mail comes up to compose and send a message the way it should, but the address field is blank.
There needs to be an address pre-filled.

It will be interesting to see how long it will take someone from ehMac to fix that.

Yep, pretty spotty today. ehMax did mention (http://www.ehmac.ca/ehmac-ca-info-centre/66982-i-don-t-believe-ehmac-slow-molasses-again.html#post703343) in July that it would take time & money.

Yes, but at the time the issue was that the site was slow and I stopped bitching about it.
But now it seems the site is down completely for several hours.

I guess the key question is - is this a server issue or is it a problem with the web site itself?
I was involved as one of the administrators of a web site that was very slow and went down every once in a while.
Got fed up after a while because it took me forever to maintain the site, so I convinced the owner to move to a different provider.
We tested the site with the new provider for a month; the slowness and crashes were gone and we switched over completely a couple of weeks ago.
Now that site is up all the time and access is very fast - but again, that worked because it was a provider server issue, not an issue with the web site itself.

In any case, the link I pointed out should really be fixed so people can notify the ehMac team next time this happens.

I've been informed that the drive that the server is on is causing some problems.
There is going to be some work done in the next little while to address this issue.

The issue is back with a vengeance this morning. :(

Must be really intermittent.

I got a single one two days ago, but none this morning and I have been to a few different ehMac threads today.

Users are welcome to try this site if they are having a problem, to see if it's ehMac or just them:

Down for everyone or just me? (http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/)

The problem is not that ehMac is possibly down - it's not - it's just that an ehMac page comes up saying ehMac has encountered a database error.
I only recall ehMac being down once lately but it's often still very slow.

If I can't get to a site on the net, I just go to CNN and Yahoo to see if it's me or the site - it's usually me and usually the DSL connection that has dropped.
